Grid steel structure has the advantages of simple manufacture, short construction period, suitable for large span, high height, heavy bearing structure, so that steel has been widely used in the construction industry. But the corrosion resistance and rust resistance of grid steel structure are relatively poor, so in the engineering design of steel structure, there should be anti-rust coating design content. According to the electrochemical principle of steel corrosion, the corrosion of steel can be prevented by preventing or destroying the formation of corrosion cells or strongly blocking the cathodic and anodic processes. At present, it is common to use protective layer to prevent corrosion of steel structure. The commonly used protective layer is as follows:

1. Metal protective layer

Metal protective layer is with cathode or anode protection of metal or alloy, by electroplating, plating, electroless plating, hot dip and plating method, such as in need of protection of metal surface metal layer (film) to isolate the metal contact with the corrosive medium, or use of electrochemical protection for metal protection, so as to prevent corrosion.

2. Chemical protective layer

Through chemical or electrochemical methods, the steel surface generates a compound film with corrosion resistance to isolate the contact between corrosive medium and metal, to prevent the corrosion of metal.

3, non-metallic protective layer

With paint, plastic, enamel and other materials, by brushing and spraying methods, forming a protective film on the metal surface, so that the metal and corrosive medium isolation, so as to prevent the corrosion of metal.

4, steel surface treatment

After steel processing to factory before, component surface will inevitably be stained with oil, water, dust and other pollutants, as well as the existence of burr, iron oxide, rust layer and other surface defects. As we know from the main reasons for the corrosion of the steel structure in front, the content of pollutants is an important factor affecting the degree of atmospheric corrosion, and the surface dirt will seriously affect the adhesion of the coating on the steel surface, and make the corrosion under the paint film continue to expand, resulting in the failure or destruction of the coating, unable to achieve the desired protective effect.

Accordingly, the effect that the stand or fall of quality of steel surface handles to the protective effect of coating and life, compare the effect of performance difference of coating itself breed even sometimes bigger, should give take seriously.
