High strength: Compared to other traditional structures, steel structures are stronger than concrete, brick-concrete and wood structures. Under the same design conditions, steel structure members are light in weight and relatively small in section, so steel structure is especially suitable for large-span buildings. We see some large plants are almost all steel structures.
Light weight: under the same scale, the weight of steel structure building roof truss is only 1/4 ~ 1/3 of concrete, and even 1/10 of cold-formed thin-wall steel roof truss. Such light weight can reduce the force of earthquake action, so the steel structure of the plant is earthquake-resistant.
Good plasticity and toughness: the raw material of steel structure building is steel. The internal structure of steel is very uniform, nearly isotropic, with good plasticity and toughness, and will not suddenly fracture due to external forces, such as natural disasters such as earthquakes.
Industrialization: Steel structure building is characterized by industrialization. The construction process for steel structures is usually to make all the required parts in the factory and then transport them to the site for assembly. Industrialization can also accurately control quality and improve the safety performance of steel structures.
Energy saving and environmental protection: Why are steel structures considered energy saving and environmental protection buildings? People familiar with architecture know that steel structure is the representative of green building, and the color steel sandwich plate used in steel structure building is also energy-saving building materials. Another embodiment of green environmental protection is the use of dry operation in the construction of the whole steel structure, to avoid the environmental pollution caused by the wet concrete structure.
