(1) Plate support can be used for small span space truss. The angular displacement of this bracket is limited. In terms of design, the base plate of the support can be provided with oval bolt holes. When the friction force of the bearing is overcome, the rubber bearing will produce horizontal displacement. Rubber brackets or TEflon plates can be added between the brackets and the transition plate when needed to enhance sliding ability.
(2) Single-sided arc pressure support can be used for medium and small span grid. The bearing can rotate along the arc surface, which improves the influence of deflection and temperature stress on the bearing performance
(3) Double-sided circular arc bearing is suitable for large-span truss, and ball-hinged bearing is suitable for multi-support large-span truss. Due to the complex structure and high price of this kind of support, steel truss rubber support is rarely used in China except for some large span civil buildings.
(4) Plate rubber bearing is suitable for large span grid structure, arc grid structure and reticulated shell structure. This kind of support can not only make the grid bearing get enough bearing capacity without excessive compression deformation, but also adapt to the rotation requirements of the bearing node, temperature changes and horizontal displacement caused by earthquake, improve the stress state of the lower support structure, because the rubber pad has good elasticity and large shear deformation ability. Compared with other types of bearing joints, this kind of bearing joints also has the advantages of simple structure, convenient installation and steel saving. Plate rubber bearing has been successfully applied in many large and medium span grid structure projects in China and has achieved good technical and economic results.
